PR: Robbins Announces 2013 SSOTY Winner!
Facebook and Twitter fans alike recently decided the fate of the 6 finalists chosen by Robbins in the annual Sports Surface of the Year contest. Fans from Robbins Twitter and Facebook pages voted from April 22nd – May 3rd for their favorite facility by “Liking” the photo on Facebook, and “Re-tweeting” the photo on Twitter. More than 1,700 votes were cast, and with many lead changes along the way, Supreme Courts of Naperville, IL edged out the
University of Michigan, winning by only 13 votes! The was the closest contest to date in Robbins SSOTY history!
The most surprising finalist support came from the Akron Field House renovation at Akron High School in Akron Colorado. In a town with a population of only 1,700, and enrollment of only 120 students TOTAL, Akron Field House brought in 185 + votes and 55 shares on Facebook. Surprising enough, they actually held the lead for the first few days rallying the entire community before succumbing to their larger rivals.
Congratulations to Steve Fantuzzi at Floors, Inc. and Supreme Courts for being crowned Robbins 2013 SSOTY. We also want to thank all the fans who voted, and congratulate all the finalists that worked extremely hard on their entries and the facilities in recognition!
